    About the design

Text on Front: 100 Tampons is too many for 1 week in space.

Text on back: Sally Ride (1951-2012) In 1983, Dr. Sally Ride became the first American woman in space on NASA’s Challenger STS-7 mission. An astronaut and physicist, Ride encouraged children, especially girls, to embrace science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. She wrote several science-related children’s books and pioneered NASA’s EarthKAM project, which allowed students to photograph Earth with a camera on the International Space Station. After NASA, she taught Physics at the University of California in San Diego and continued to promote science programs across the US. She was an inspirational mentor and role model for thousands of women and girls. She was also famously given 100 tampons for 1 week in space.  “The stars don’t look bigger, but they do look brighter.”
